Hi! I'm Amanda Boostrom.

I am a licensed dietitian nutritionist and an eating disorder dietitian. My pronouns are she/her/hers.

I specialize in eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and ARFID), healing from chronic dieting, sports nutrition, prenatal and postpartum nutrition, and eating concerns in children and teens

I am passionate about helping others heal their relationship with food, connect with their body, and learn how to nourish it well

Like too many young women, I struggled with body image beginning in my pre-teen years. I have danced since a young age and continued throughout my lifeDespite my love for dance, it certainly increased my desire for thinness. Today, I enjoy teaching my clients how to enjoy their sport, fuel it well, and make peace with their body.

I attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where I received my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, followed by my dietetic internship at Virginia Tech. My career as a Dietitian started at the WIC program (Women, Infants, and Children) in Sacramento, California where I developed a passion for maternal health, infant feeding, and pediatric nutrition. Following this, I moved to beautiful Colorado and began my Master’s in Nutrition at Colorado State University.

My Master's program provided a first exposure to Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size, weight stigma, and the physical and mental toll of chronic dieting. It was there that I finally healed my relationship with food and my body and found my professional niche- non-diet nutrition. Since I started as a private practice dietitian in 2015, I have helped hundreds of clients break free from the perpetual pursuit of a smaller body and heal from eating disorders

I am a DMV native. I currently live in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington DC, and I grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland. When I'm not working, I'm spending time with my husband and two young daughters. We get outdoors as much as possible. We also love to cook, try (and brew!) craft beer, and just enjoy time with family and friends.

I have worked with Dr. Daisy & Co. since its inception as a group practice in 2017 and could not ask for a more supportive and brilliant group of dietitians to work and collaborate with. I welcome and support individuals in the LGBTQIA+ communities, BIPOC, and to people of all sizes, abilities, documentation status, and faiths.

I welcome anyone, regardless of age, race, ability, size, gender identity or sexual orientation.
